We started the day with a challenge! Make a bridge out of one sheet of paper and see how much weight it will hold. Their creations were ingenious! We finished our rotations from yesterday and then had our snack and play time. #spheromaketurkeynoises After that we headed to the computer lab to enroll in Day 1 of our CS-First Passport. I am a big fan of Scratch and have noticed that the kids get caught up in 'playing' and they never really get to know how Scratch works. Don't get me wrong, I love PLAYING but I think we can play with a purpose sometimes. The CS-First curriculum is a fantastic way to teach Scratch in an engaging manner. There are plenty of themes to choose from ensuring everyone gets what they want! | |
After Scratch we did a GoNoodle and then some lunch and Wild Kratts. The students have been so interested in Minecraft I introduced them to learntomod.com. It's a very different experience but I hope they enjoy coding Minecraft as much as playing it!
We finished the day with some Toothpick Geometry and our check out!
Ready for tomorrow?!
