Today we kicked off Summer Camp 2016 in style! We started with the Cheerio Challenge and we were able to stack 10 cheerios one on top of the other (not on anyone's forehead I might add)! After we finished our Challenge we moved on to meet our first robot of the week, Sphero. We accepted our first Sphero Challenge (to build him a chariot) and got to work on our first prototype. The first race is tomorrow so we shall see how this holds up! | |
| We were then introduced to code.org and Gamestar Mechanic. Gamestar is always a hit and I loved seeing how they would help each other complete their levels so they could level up. After lunch we built a watercraft using plastic wrap, 4 straws, 2 cups and a piece of duct tape. Now that used some brainpower and yes, we had some Titanics. We ended the day meeting our second set of robots from Wonder Workshop and continuing to learn about game design and programming. Excited about tomorrow? Much! P.S. And England and Wales are through the quarter finals of Euro 2016. P.P.S. Yes, that's my young son Samuel at the petting zoo! |
