It is with great pride I announce that 2015 is going to be THE year for STEM opportunities for girls in Austin. There are many organizations throughout this city and this state committed to empowering young girls to do what they naturally do: Innovate, Create and Build! I had the pleasure of attending a SciGirls training this past weekend and was excited to be in a room full of enthusiastic men and women whose goal was to promote and create STEM learning opportunities specifically designed for girls. Just this week this organization has been listed on the National Girl's Collaborative Project's website and we are receiving more and more attention on social media. I plan to further my connections with others in Austin to reach girls as young as 4.
I want people to know I'm serious about this; that I genuinely care about promoting the number of girls in STEM and that I think a balance of men and women in any work place is a good thing.
My spring classes through Eanes Community Education have been announced and my Spring Break 2015 camp is accepting registrations too.
