I was born in 1973 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
I was a performer; singing, dancing, acting to varying degrees all over the north of Ireland. I hated math and science, preferring to focus my time on music, English and art.
I left home at the age of 17 to attend university in Glasgow. I studied Business Law and marketing and graduated with a 2:1 degree.
I entered marketing as a career. Worked for Michelin, Coca-Cola before deciding to travel.
I never regarded myself as being techie until I started teaching. I became fascinated with all the technology tools that were emerging for use in the classroom and started to integrate cameras, video recorders, audio recorders culminating in launching a BYOD policy and opening a class Twitter account.
When an opening came up for an Educational Technologist I applied and was accepted.
This changed my life.
I began to realize that I could do math and science. In fact, not only could I do it! I loved it!
